Mr. Pappas is a US trained and educated patent attorney and engineer, and the current managing partner and founder of PAPPAS IP. PAPPAS IP is an Athens based law firm specializing in patent preparation, patent prosecution, and technology licensing and litigation, with partners and associates in the United States and other countries. Mr. Pappas has been representing clients in all aspects of intellectual property for over 20 years and holds a degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the United States, and law degree from a top tier US law school, where he specialized in patents and intellectual property. Early in his career, Mr. Pappas was a digital design engineer with Grumman Aerospace (now Northrop Grumman). From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Pappas worked as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office where he was responsible for the examination and grant of patents in the electrical arts. Since 1991, Mr. Pappas has represented high tech clients at several internationally recognized law firms and also as senior in-house patent counsel at a number of major high tech corporations and start ups. Mr. Pappas is an experienced patent practitioner, patent litigator, intellectual property attorney and a highly competent licensing and negotiation expert. Mr. Pappas left his position as Vice President in the Patent Department of Qualcomm Incorporated to start PAPPAS IP in 2008 and to form the first of its kind law firm in South East Europe to provide complete specialized legal representation in US and European patent and intellectual property matters. Mr. Pappas is a graduate of the Stanford University program on Executive Leadership, and an educator with substantial experience in the training and qualification of patent experts. Mr. Pappas holds licenses as an attorney and solicitor in the United States, Greece, England and Wales, is a registered patent practitioner before the US Patent and Trademark Office, and an authorized legal practitioner before the European Patent Office.

Ms. Gardner has over nineteen years of scientific and legal experience including in-house, outside and government positions. Mr. Kourtis went to law school in Washington, D.C. and worked for the environmental and energy sections of a large law firm for four years before moving to Athens, Greece in 1992. In Athens, Mr. Kourtis practiced transactional law with an international law firm with an emphasis on representing multi-national companies with matters in Greece. Mr. Kourtis also headed the Greek operations of an American biotechnology company heavily involved in the clinical diagnostics and life sciences fields and later became the company’s general counsel. Mr. Kourtis moved on to London in 2003 and worked with a London based firm on transactional matters and also became a solicitor of England and Wales. In 2005, Mr. Kourtis returned to Athens and practices in the areas of medical law, renewable energy, and corporate law. Mr. Savit is an intellectual property attorney and patent prosecutor, with over 15 years of law firm experience. Mr. Savit, who has a special expertise in the telecommunications, electronics and computer fields, joined the firm in 2009. His practice includes preparing and prosecuting high technology patent applications in diverse technological fields; preparing due-diligence, infringement and validity opinions; and counseling clients on licensing, trademark and contractual matters. From 1982 to 1993 he worked for Unisys Corporation as an RF/antenna/electronics design engineer primarily for military and commercial radar systems. From 2007-2011, Dr. Alexandropoulos has been affiliated with the National Observatory of Athens, Institute for Space Applications and Remote Sensing, Athens, Greece, where he has participated in several national and European R&D projects. Since 2011, Dr. Alexandropoulos has been preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the field of electronics and computers, and remains a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Telecommunications Science and Technology of the University of Peloponnese, Tripolis, Greece.
Dr. G. C. Alexandropoulos' research interests have included adaptive modulation, diversity techniques, cooperative and cognitive networks, fading channels, MIMO systems, multicell cooperation, signal processing for communications, and source localization in wireless sensor networks. He acts as a reviewer for several international journals (IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, etc) and IEEE conferences (ICC, GLOBECOM, VTC etc). He has also been a technical program committee member of the IEEE WCSP 2009. Dr. G. C. Alexandropoulos is a member of the IEEE, the IEEE Communications Society, and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
